JFK’S ASSASSINATION (CBS-TV COVERAGE)(PART 31)

For a look at the beginning of President Kennedy’s day in Texas. A day that began without even a hint of disaster,

here from Dallas is CBS News Correspondent Dan Rather:

….. Kennedy’s final four hours began this morning at Ft. Worth’s Carswell Air Force Base. He and Mrs. Kennedy had just attended a breakfast of the Ft. Worth Chamber of Commerce. At the airport in Ft. Worth before taking off for Dallas the Kennedys as they have been prone to do all along on this Texas trip went to the fence railing to shake hands with well wishers and allow some pictures to be taken.

The President and Mrs. Kennedy both had looked particularly refreshed and rested yesterday during their trip to San Antonio and Houston and again this morning as they started to leave Ft. Worth. Democratic Congressman accompanying the President on his trip were right behind him and Mrs. Kennedy. And the two boarded Air Force One at Carswell Air Force Base for the 30-mile air trip from Ft. Worth to Dallas.

It had been a rather grey morning a little bit earlier in the day as a cold front moved across Texas and there had been some rain. Laden skies and that little bit of  rain were giving way to brilliant sunshine just about o an hour before the President’s scheduled arrival time at Dallas’s Love Field.

This was the crowd at Love Field, a particularly large greeting crowd. It was described that way by Dallas Police and Mayor Earl Cabell. It’s ironic that the rains stopped before the Presidents arrival in Dallas. Had it continued raining a bullet proof bubble top which fits over the sleek Presidential Convertible would have undoubtedly been used today and possibly would have prevented the assassination. Probably not since the person sitting next to him shot him. But as the sunshine broke through the President and Mrs. Kennedy arrived in Dallas to be greeted by a line of local dignitaries. A very enthusiastic crowd was on hand. Local reporters who have gathered many of these covered many of these gatherings called it one of the largest airport greetings in Dallas history.

Mrs. Kennedy was given a bouquet of roses. (I don’t recall any look of surprise at being handed red roses on her face. She seemed to like them.) Mrs. Kennedy seemed to enjoy a shaking hands with the local populace a bit more today than she did yesterday in San Antonio and Houston when there were times yesterday when Mrs. Kennedy appeared to be a little ill at ease. This morning she was all smiles and very warm in her greetings as was the President.

A person in front of Oriental woman or maybe Vietnamese?? (woman with black hair smiling) has her hands on the flat black object which is in President  Kennedy’s hand. 3:04/10:50 and she seems to be trying to take the object or gave it, which the President hands that black object to a younger man in sunglasses at 3:06/10:50. Then the woman seems to disappear. Then Jackie Kennedy makes a signal with her hand to her collar as the exchange takes place at 3:07/10:50 as if signaling someone somehow as a few men in background behind Jackie Kennedy seems to be grinning from ear to ear so they are obviously aware of the exchange of the object that is occurring!

What was the trade?

Another oddity about the Presient Kennedy’s assassination is the speech he is most famous for about the press and secret societies

doesn’t seem to have been live.

What I mean is,  just about everything this man did was televised, except for this speech.

I have searched for it to see him make the speech, but cannot find it anywhere. He supposedly gave it to the press at a press dinner his first year as President. As popular as he was at least at first you would think we would have seen it. I suspect it was taped and was the speech he planned to give in Dallas at the Trade Mart and having foresight he taped it to be heard if he was killed

knowing he was being surveiled by the Secret Service, the Press, the city fathers ie Evangelicals, the Vatican, etc.

That could be why Mrs. Connally said, “You can’t say that Dallas doesn’t love you,”  about the moment he was shot coincidentally.

Could this be what he exchanged above?

If you punctuate that sentence it could be she meant,

“You can’t say that, Dallas doesn’t love you.”

But I could be reading into it too much. It is just a bit weird that she says that she said that comment the moment a shot was fired. And then later says about her strange writings (memories) that she found one day that she doesn’t remember writing, takes them to the THC (Texas Historical something or other at the University of Texas in Austin) that if she kept them as is and didn’t add punctuation or change it etc then it was considered history but if she added something to it such as a jot or tittle it would be considered a story. As if she didn’t know that, since she had worked for that association, which she failed to mention in her many interviews. I wrote quite a bit about her in few of my posts which you can find on the side bar of this page.

——————————————————————————————–

Of course the President used to such occasions. The President spent what seemed to be in a rather long time at the Dallas Airport making sure that he shook hands with everyone who was on hand there.

As far as the dignitaries were concerned always taking time to introduce his wife.

Because of the rather long time spent at the airport the President was a bit late getting started on his motorcade through downtown Dallas. They took time out at the airport to greet an elderly lady who said she had lived 69 years without shaking hands with the President. She got her chance today.

Why 69 years?

Of course, he is only 40 something years old. Is that a mock of some kind? Most people don’t shake hands with the President and why would she wait for 69 years to do so? I don’t know if what Dan Rather says is true but I think the number 69 is a mock of some kind. In the bible there is woman who waits to meet the Messiah and does so in the temple at the time when he is a baby but I don’t know which gospel that is in, but I do recall that. I linked the  number 69 to a list of things that occurred in the year 69. But 69 has also come to mean other things as well in our lifetime that aren’t proper to say although I might attempt to later on. I find it interesting that this story of this woman waiting 69 years to shake hands with the President right before the President is assassinated a bit disconcerting and odd  not to mention right after some kind of exchange and the hand signals by his wife!!!

Evangelist Billy Graham defends Chick-fil-A

“Earlier this year, the ailing preacher publicly endorsed a proposed constitutional amendment

to ban gay unions in North Carolina,

raising eyebrows among

many who’d watched Graham studiously

avoid thorny social issues for years.”.…..

“I’ve known their family for many years and have watched them grow Chick-fil-A

into one of the best businesses in America

while never compromising their values,” Graham said”……..

“His open letter also contains a fund-raising appeal

and a notice that Graham’s son Franklin,

himself a major evangelical figure,

is launching a new effort to

“bring the Gospel into neighborhoods and homes in every corner of America next year.”……

I think Sodomy has many meanings besides the obvious

I would take this news tip above as a warning.

Back to more important issues:

Maybe the lady handed JFK something important?

By the way have you noticed that Dan Rather likes to say rather rather often? Kind of rhetorical and I believe purposefully to mock. Why? I think he illustrated through an earlier conversation with Eddie Barker on this CBS affiliate in Dallas conversation about Jackie Kennedy and her attire as she left the hospital and her actions. He knew she had assassinated the President but hints at it to the audience. Why?I don’t know of course but I think he is either trying to tell us without actually coming out and saying so or he was blackmailing Jackie Kennedy or just observing and playing a game of some strange kind! Maybe all of the above!

Here is a video of Dan Rather who says he was one of the first to see the Zapruder film

and looks as if he  did earn his career

rather nefariously:

Dan Rather Starts Career With Huge Error

04:00/10:50 Jackie sticking out her tongue

Jackie licks her lips a habit she seems to have or a social faux pas which seems to be emulated by many at CBS in these tapes and I think on purpose! She did it earlier right after she stepped off the plane in Dallas at Love Field. Possibly it is a symptom of some kind, not sure exactly. I wrote a few articles that demonstrate this oddity and the possibility of another reason for this habit:

President Kennedy and the Secret Service

The Secret Service all during this Texas trip had been allowing photographers and newsmen, local press, as distinguished from the White House news contingent, to work very closely around the President and Mrs. Kennedy.

The Presidential couple went again to the fence railing in Dallas to greet the well wishers departing from the course marked out for them by Secret Service people, but, of course, President Kennedy had made something of a reputation as a man who liked to break a way and shake hands with well wishers and the crowds who came to see him.

These are some of the last closeup pictures taken of President Kennedy. He was literally mobbed as he and Mrs. Kennedy went to that fence railing at Love Field. The crowd at the Dallas Airport was to a large measure a young crowd. The teenage group which played such a prominant role in President Kennedy’s 1960 campaign.

Youngsters of the teen-age were very much in abundance at the airport.

Mrs. Kennedy carried with her the entire time at the airport the roses that had been given to her.

Then the Presidential couple entered the open Lincoln Convertible in which they rode with Governor and Mrs. John Connally. Of course, Governor Connally also was shot in the convertible. In the convertible two Secret Service Agents driving it. Immediately behind them Governor and Mrs. John Connally of Texas and then in the rear seat the President and Mrs. Kennedy.

The plan in Dallas was to go from the airport with a rather slow motorcade so that everyone would have a chance to look, applaud, and take pictures of the President and Mrs. Kennedy. To go along Lemmon Street which was one of Dallas’s main streets, then cut over to Main Street and go down to Main Street after circling through the down town area out to the Trade Mart where the President was due to make a speech.

This is the convertible which the President was riding when he was shot.

Now this is one of the overhead walkways and railroad trestles under which the Presidential car had to go. At first it was thought that the assassin’s bullet might have been fired from one of those walkways or railroad trestles, but the current most popular theory is that the assassins bullet was fired from the upper story of a building. Interesting statement. This was the scene in  down town Dallas as the Presidential motorcade went rather slowly by. As you can see the crowd is 10, 12 and  14 lines deep. It was nefariously estimated that between 200 and 300 thousand persons had turned out to greet President Kennedy.

Now why does Dan Rather say nefariously? At least that is what it sounds as if he is saying.

Nefarious means iniquity or abominable.

Is Dan Rather hinting at the meaning of this eventual Coup caused by

lust for power or is he jealous of the huge turnout Kennedy received

or is he artfully referring to

Nefertiti

The reason I am suspicious is because of the

Temple of Dendur

“The Temple of Dendur (Dendoor in nineteenth century sources) is a temple that was built by the Roman governor of Egypt, c, around 15 BC and dedicated to IsisOsiris, as well as two deified sons of a local Nubian chieftain, Pediese (“he whom Isis has given”) and Pihor (“he who belongs to Horus“).[1] The temple was commissioned by Emperor Augustus of Rome and has been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York since 1978.”

Relocation

“The Temple of Dendur in its original location. Drawing by Henry Salt.

The temple was removed from its original site (modern name: Dendur, ancient name: Tuzis, about 80 kilometers south of the town of Aswan) in 1963 in order to save it from being submerged by the construction of the Aswan High Dam.[1] In recognition of the American assistance in saving various other monuments threatened by the dam’s construction, Egypt presented the temple and its gate as a gift to the United States of America, represented by – among others – Jacqueline Kennedy, in 1965.”

“On April 27, 1967, the temple was awarded to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where it was installed in the Sackler Wing in 1978. Inside the Sackler Wing, designed by the architects Kevin RocheJohn Dinkeloo, and associates, a reflecting pool in front of the temple and a sloping wall behind it, represent the Nile and the cliffs of the original location. The glass on the ceiling and north wall of the Sackler is stippled in order to diffuse the light and mimic the lighting in Nubia.”

From her apartment windows in New York City she had a splendid view of a glass enclosed wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art which displays the Temple of Dendur. This was a gift from Egypt to the U.S. in gratitude for the generosity of the Kennedy administration, who had been instrumental in saving several temples and objects of Egyptian antiquity that would otherwise have been flooded after the construction of the Aswan Dam.[10]

Here is a Time Magazine article link about the Temple of Dendur called

A Little Bit of Egypt on Fifth

by Sophy Burnham

“And so it was that the U.A.R. found itself donating an ancient Egyptian temple to the most Jewish city in the world perhaps outside of Tel Aviv. The State Department with inimitable timing cabled Cairo of the Committee’s decision just as the Arab-Israeli war broke out. But the U.A.R  kept it’s bargain. On May 25th it confirmed the gift.”

and the consequences of it’s presence in America.

JacQueline Kennedy and then Came Lot

Down the Main Street Canyon of Dallas. The President riding in an open top convertible.

He and Mrs. Kennedy frequently looking up to wave to persons who took positions in the high buildings.

As you can see the welcome was enthusiastic and warm.

It was from this kind of window that the assassins bullet is believed to have been fired.

Although these particular pictures are further down town than the scene where the actual shooting took place.

Then the shots rang out, the Presidential motorcade speeded up.

The President was rushed immediately to Parkland Hospital.

This is the rear entrance to the hospital through which the Presidents car was brought.

There are the roses Mrs. Kennedy had been carrying.

Although, these roses are yellow and she was carrying red roses so who knows why Dan Rather says that when he knows that she was carrying red roses, not yellow and even comments on the red roses at the airport earlier. Dan Rather knows more than he is letting on and why he would say the last bit about the roses is deceptive.

They were on the floor. It had gotten there in the car as Mrs.Kennedy put the head of her mortally wounded husband on her lap.

This is the interior of the convertible.

Which of course it’s not since Lady Bird was given yellow roses so it must have been the car which carried LBJ and his wife!

What really gets me is that Dan Rather knows that and yet is playing some kind of stupid game.

Perhaps trying to make someone notice, who knows.

Dallas Law Enforcement Officers, and Secret Service men, along with Congressman Jim Wright, Democratic Senator Ralph Yarborough, were all on hand at the rear of the hospital. The Law Enforcement people and the Secret Service men kept photographers, newsmen, and the curious, as far away from the rear of the hospital as they possibly could.

Congressman Wright there in a moment of grief.

A large crowd gathered at Parkland Hospital as word spread that the President had been shot. There was considerable disbelief at first that he had actually been shot. Some thought he simply had taken ill. This is the new and modern Parkland Hospital with some of the best facilities in this part of the country to which the President was taken after he was shot. This is the ambulance that carried the President in moving away. A tight security guard was placed around the automobile. There are some of the aides and one or two doctors I believe rushing into the hospital.

Senator Ralph Yarborough who was one of the last  to see President Kennedy arrive gave reporters some early details.

These were long moments at Parkland Hospital as everyone waited for word on- how is the President. Hospital sources gave this report of the arrival at the Emergency  Entrance to the hospital and I quote from the hospital. The President was lying motionless in the car. Mrs. Kennedy was leaning over him, holding him. Governor Connally was leaning back in the seat holding his stomach. Both men were covered with blood.

Inside the Emergency room witnesses said the First Lady splattered with blood entered without a word. Mrs. Kennedy reportedly held up very well inside.

She was heard only to say : “Jack Jack No No.”

Even regular hospital attendants were barred admittance into the Emergency Room as a bevy of doctors worked frantically over President Kennedy. At the same time this scene was going on at Parkland Hospital all around town Police, Sheriff’s Deputies, and Secret Service men were following every possible lead, every possible clue in an effort to come up with some kind of lead to the assassin.

JFK’S ASSASSINATION (CBS-TV COVERAGE)(PART 32)

A film of mostly Parkland Hospital and The School Book Depository Building in Dallas

with Dan Rather

Governor Yarborough after checking inside in the Emergency Room came out and told reporters that he simply didn’t know whether the President was still alive or not. The Washington Press Corps and newsmen in general were, of course, pressing for some kind of word, some kind of detail. Things began to get crowded despite police efforts there at the rear of the hospital, the Emergency room.

At the moment these pictures were taken it was known that the President was in serious, perhaps critical condition. It was not known that he was dead. All around the hospital the faces of the crowd that gathered told the story.

This is part of the motor entourage which I believe brought two Roman Catholic Church priests to the hospital.

The crowd now has gotten the word. Word has been received that President Kennedy is dead.

There were some others wounded at the scene of the shooting. They were brought in much later.

Who is he talking about and how does Dan Rather know this. He is speaking in the past tense.

————

Very shortly after it was announced that the President had died a local ambulance pulled up to the hospital and about the time it did arrive to carry the body of the President away, the President Kennedy away, Presidential Press Assistant Malcolm Kilduff held a press briefing and made the announcement that the President was officially dead. He also explained the seating arrangement in the automobile in which the President had taken part in the motorcade along with Governor and Mrs. John Connally. This was the seating arrangement the Secret Service the two Secret Service men in front the Connallys in the middle the President and Mrs. Kennedy in the rear. President Kennedy was sitting on the right hand side as you looked on to that car from the top side. The shot apparently was fired from about one block away from what is believed to have been a 30-caliber weapon.

The crowd outside the hospital got larger about the time the Presidential party and the body of President Kennedy left Dallas’s Parkland Hospital. Police continue to stand guard over the convertible which had brought the blood splattered Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Connnally to the hospital. The latest word on Governor Connally is that he is in serious, but not critical condition.

Here it is being explained to some members of the crowd, they have to get further back. Here are some grief stricken members of the Presidential party. Mrs. Kennedy rode out in an ambulance the curtains drawn. The body was taken immediately to Dallases Love Field where it was put aboard the Presidential plane Presidential One.

Here is the Roman Catholic Father who administered the last rites, Oscar Huber. Father Oscar Huber of Holy Trinity Church in Dallas and one of the other Fathers at Holy Trinity Church. They were the two Catholic Priests who administered the last rites.

The Holy Catholic Trinity Church is located at 3811 Oak Lawn Ave.

Was this man also in one of the cars in the parade?

———————

There were stares of disbelief as the body of the President rode away. All afternoon many Dallasites kept saying,

“it just can’t be true.”

Looks like Charles Stanley  above of In Touch Ministries (evangelical) who happened to have obtained his Masters of Divinity

from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Fort Worth, Texas about the time of the assassination!

The other man on the right looks like Eddie Barker! Kind of a shady looking feller with a hat on.

—————

Mayor Earl Cabel as he rushed away from the hospital.

The picture on the right of a “Dallasite” (sobbing I think) holding a sign

Talk about propaganda Geeeeeeeeez

President’s personal secretary and Mrs. Kennedy’s secretary leaving the hospital at about the time the body left.

The ambulance that carried the body of President Kennedy out to the airport.

The motorcade, of course, was very small:  the ambulance, three cars, and some police motorcycle escorts. Was a bronze coffin in which the body of the President was placed inside that ambulance.

Police, in the meantime, had ringed the building from which the shots were to believe to have been fired. This is the building about a block from Houston and Main in Dallas. Police had  heard reports that a man with a gun had been seen at on the fourth or fifth floor of that building so they immediately circled the building, heavily armed Police and Sheriff’s Deputies. Had an inch by inch, foot by foot search was made of the building and also of the surrounding neighborhood.

A number of suspects were picked up in the early minutes after the shooting. Some of those picked up were simply people officers thought might have some information on the shooting, not people who the police thought actually did the shooting.

For about a half an hour law enforcement officers thought they might have the assassin trapped in the building. One employee of the building was later picked up as a suspect and is still in custody. At the time these pictures were filmed the police thought they might have the assassin still inside that building.

As mentioned earlier not only the building, but a three or four block area was sealed off. From one of those open windows perhaps came the shot that killed President Kennedy.

Man pointing i.e. in charge. (I think)

The man facing the camera is the spittin’ image of Dr. William H. Dickenson Jr. long time server of God pastor of Highland Park Methodist Church who gave his word and the “Benediction” at the Trade Mart, and lays the blame for the death of President Kennedy on the audience attending! Yet he is with the sheriff and at the School Book Depository seemingly in control of the investigation. I guess he wears two hats. That sheriff who is walking with him was the man in the garage basement when Lee Harvey Oswald was assassinated by Jack Ruby, supposedly.

Below is what he said at the Trade Mart!

“There are no words to express what we’re feeling.

We are all conscience of the fact that we face an issue and some responsibilities as citizens today

which we cannot face without the strength and the wisdom and the patience of our God.

Will you bow your heads?:

Draw near us o God

and sustain us with thy presence

and grant unto us wisdom, strength, courage to live

in keeping with thy law and to live as free men.

Aye Men”

This Event is a religious conspiracy!

At least six and possibly as many as one dozen arrests were made in the confusion and frantic searching that followed the shooting.

Secret Agents, Police, Undercover Police, Secret Service or just some men holding this man by the arms as if arresting him. Looks like serious business, but a few moments later that same man seems to be very at ease and smiling and their grasp seems to have loosened.

Gee, this looks a bit contrived!

—————————————————–

This warehouse building is located a block from the Houston and Main intersection where the President was shot.

This is the motorcade route area. This is the kind of neighborhood in which the shooting occurred. Police and detectives here are chasing some other people that they wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting.

Then downtown at a theater Police arrested a man after a Dallas Policeman was shot.

=================

The man was brought immediately to Police Headquarters as were all of those arrested. That man said to have been an employee of the building from which the shot had believed to have come. Let me emphasize that no charges have been filed against anyone in connection with the case.

Oswald on elevator with other men. He is looking back at his smiling friend behind him!

Holding Back the…..

Emotions!

It’s Hard To Do Sometimes!

———————————-

This is Judge Sarah T. Hughes, a woman Federal District Judge. She is the woman who gave the oath of office to now President Lyndon Johnson after the shooting of President Kennedy.

I guess she was summoned although she is wearing a big corsage on her shoulder.

Was she a guest at the Trade Mart luncheon?????

She is wearing a polka dot dress. On the right she looks horrified as if hearing the news for the first time!

“She is the only woman in U.S. history to have sworn in a United States President, a task usually executed by the Chief Justice of the United States….”

In 1935, she accepted an appointment as a state judge from Governor James Allred for the Fourteenth District Court in Dallas, becoming the state’s first woman district judge. In 1936 she was elected to the same post. She was re-elected six more times and remained in that post until 1960.

In 1961, President John F. Kennedy appointed her to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. She was the first woman to serve as a federal district judge in Texas…..”

LBJ called Irving Goldberg from the plane and asked, ‘Who can swear me in?’ Goldberg called me, and I said, ‘Well, we know a federal judge can.’ Then I got a call from the President’s plane, with the command ‘Find Sarah Hughes.’ Coincidentally, Judge Hughes, Jan [Sanders’ wife] and I [Sanders] were supposed to go to Austin that night for a dinner for President Kennedy. I reached her at home and said, ‘They need you to swear in the Vice President at Love Field. Please get out there.’ She said, ‘Is there an oath?’ I said, ‘Yes, but we haven’t found it yet.’ She said, ‘Don’t worry about it; I’ll make one up.’ She was very resourceful, you know. By the time she got to the airplane, someone had already called it into the plane. We quickly realized that it is in the Constitution.

Judge Sarah T. Hughes here is going directly to the plane at Love Field where the Presidential Oath was administered to Lyndon Johnson.

Later life

“…Hughes was a member of the three-judge panel that first heard the case of Roe v. Wade; the panel’s decision was subsequently affirmed by the Supreme Court of the United States. She retired from the active federal bench in 1975, though she continued to work as a judge with senior status until 1982.

A close friend of Lyndon Johnson and his family, Hughes participated in his inauguration in 1965,

took part in the book-signing of Lady Bird Johnson‘s White House memoirs,

and participated in the dedication of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.

Here is a PDF of an interview of Sarah T. Hughes from the

LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON LIBRARY ORAL HISTORY COLLECTION

(Hughes talking about the oath of office given to LBJ.)

…..”Well, I knew that Barefoot had the oath by then, but I said “Well, I know what the

oath is.”  So in place of calling him I went on up the ramp.  And somebody, I don’t know

who it was, met me and I then said “I don’t need the oath of office; I know what to say.”

But in just a moment somebody handed me a copy of the oath.  I understand that someone

had telephoned to the Attorney General and had gotten a copy of the oath.  I wasn’t told

that but anyway I was handed it.

F: Barefoot didn’t dictate it to someone.

H: No, he didn’t dictate it.

And then somebody handed me a book and said

This is a Catholic Bible…..”

The Attorney General of the USA was Robert Kennedy, President Kennedy’s brother.

The Attorney General of Texas was Will Reid Wilson.

On the PDF linked above Sarah T. Hughes was appointed through as Federal Judge because of a bill that Robert Kennedy wanted passed,
at least

so says LBJ:

….”Now I didn’t know this until later.  As a matter of fact, President Johnson told me

this story.  Attorney General Kennedy took some bills up to Mr. Rayburn having to do

with the Department of Justice that he wanted passed, and Mr. Rayburn said, “I’ll see that

these bills get passed if you will recommend the appointment of Sarah Hughes……”

Wade had already been appointed.

Interesting coincidence when Robert Kennedy was assassinated a woman was seen and heard wearing a polka dot dress and a funny nose by several people. However I wouldn’t say that Sarah T. Hughes has a funny nose, but she is wearing a polka dot dress.

Roe v. Wade

This is the plane carrying the body of President Kennedy from Dallas to Washington.

Dan Rather licking 10:10/10:12

What is the deal with the licking?  It is apparent that the CBS reporters are trying to communicate something!

Maybe they can’t control their tongue cues?

JFK’S ASSASSINATION (CBS-TV COVERAGE)(PART 33)

Dan Rather: The final speech of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was made this morning to a breakfast meeting of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. This was that speech:

Edit of some kind :….The United States

 Thank you.

I know uh now why everyone in Texas Fort Worth is so thin having uh gotten up and down about uh 9 times. That’s what you do every morning. Mr. Baulk, Mr. Vice President, Governor Connally, Senator Yarborough, Jim Wright, Members of the Congressional Delegation, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Attorney General, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Two years ago I said that uh introduced myself in Paris by saying that

I was the man who had accompanied uh Mrs. Kennedy to Paris.

I’m getting that somewhat that same sensation uh as I travel around uh Texas.

Nobody wonders what Lyndon and I wear.

Everyone is laughing hysterically..

I’m glad to be here in uh Jim Wright’s city. About uh 35 uh …….

About uh 35 years ago a Congressman from California, just been elected, received a letter from an irate constituent which said uh during the campaign you promised to have the Sierra Madre mountains reforested. You’ve been in office for one month and you haven’t done so. Well, no one in Fort Worth has been uh that unreasonable, but in some ways he has had the Sierra Madre mountains reforested and uh here in Fort Worth he’s contributed to it’s growth. He speaks for Fort Worth and he speaks for the country. And I don’t know any city that’s better represented in the Congress of the United States than Fort Worth. And if there are any Democrats here this morning I’m sure you won’t hold that against him.

Three years ago last September I came here and uh Vice President and spoke at uh Burke Burnette Park. I called that speech for National Security Policy and a National Security System which was second to none. A position which said not first but, if, when, and how, but first. That city responded to that call as it has through its history and we have been putting that pledge into practice ever since.

And I want to  say a word about that pledge here in Ft. Worth, which understands National Defense and it’s importance to the security of the United States.

During the days of the Indian War this city was a fort. During the days of WWI, even before the United States got into the war, Royal Canadian Air Force Pilots were training here.

During the days of WWII the Great Liberator Bombers on which my brother flew with his co-pilot from this city were produced here.

First nonstop flight around the world took off and returned here in a plane built in factories here.

The first truly Intercontinental Bomber, the B-36, was produced here.

The B-58 which is the finest weapon system in the world today, which it demonstrated most recently in flying from Tokyo to London with an average speed of nearly a thousand miles per hour is a Ft. Worth product….?

The Iroquois Helicopter from Ft. Worth is a mainstay in our fight against the guerillas in South Viet Nam.

The transportation of crews between our missile sites is done in planes produced here in Fort Worth.

 So where ever the confrentation

(sounds like he says confrentation, concentration, con-swen-tration)

Either he is slurring his pronunciation of the word

because of some drug

or there is another meaning that

he is imputing as in POSSESSED!

may occur and in the last 3 years it’s occurred at least 3 occasions:

in Laos, Berlin and in Cuba and it will again. Where ever it occurs the products of Ft. Worth and the men of Ft. Worth provide us with a sense of security.

And in the not too distant future….. And in the not too distant future a new Ft. Worth product…. And I’m glad that there’s a table separating Mr. Hicks and myself….. a new Ft. Worth product:

the TFX, Tactical Fighter Experimental.

Nobody knows what those words mean, but thats what they mean.

Tactical Fighter Experimental will serve the forces of freedom and will be the number one airplane in the world today.

There’s been a good deal of discussion of the long and hard fought competition to win the TFX contract, but very little discussion about what this plane will do. It will be the first operational aircraft ever produced that can literally spread its wings through the air. It will thus give us a single plane capable of carrying out missions of speed, as well as distance; able to fly very far in one form or very fast in another. It can take off from rugged short airstrips, enormously increasing the Air Forces ability to participate in limited wars.

The same basic plane will serve the Navy’s Carriers saving the taxpayers at least one billion dollars in cost if they build separate planes for the Navy and the Air Force. The government of Australia by purchasing 125 million dollars of TFX planes before they are even off the drawing board has already testified to the merit of this plane and at the same time it’s confident in the ability of Ft. Worth to meet it’s schedule.

In all these ways the success of our National Defense depends upon this city in the Western United States 10,000 miles from Viet Nam, 5 or 6,000 miles from Berlin, thousands of miles from trouble spots in Latin America and Africa or the Middle East. And yet Ft. Worth and what it does and what it produces participates in all these great historic events. Texas as a whole and Ft. Worth bear a particular responsibility for this National Defense Effort. For military procurement in this state totals nearly one and a quarter billion dollars; fifth highest among all the states of the union.

There are more military personnel on active duty in this state than any in the nation, save one, and it’s not Massachusetts. Any in the nation save one where they…. where they combine military civilians defense payroll of well over a billion dollars.

I don’t recite these for any partisan purpose, they’re the result of American determination to be second to none (NUN or No man).

Please read:

Salute No Man

And as a result of the effort which this country has made in the last three years, we are second to none (NUN or No man).

Please also read:

Tell No Man

In the past three years we have:

•Increased the defense budget of the United States by over 20 percent.

•Increased the program of acquisition for Polaris Submarines from 24 to 41.

•Increased our Minuteman Missile Purchase Program by more than 75 percent.

•Doubled the number of Strategic Bombers and Missiles On Alert.

•Doubled the number of Nuclear Weapons available in the Strategic Alert Forces.

•Increased the Tactical Nuclear Forces deployed in Western Europe by over 60 percent.

•Added 5 Combat Ready Divisions to the Armies of the United States and 5 Tactical Fighter Wings to the Air Force of the United States.

•Increased our Strategic Air Lift Capability by 75 percent and •increased our Special Counter Insurgency Forces which are engaged now in South Viet Nam by 600 percent.

I hope those who want a strong America and place it on some signs will also place those figures next to it.

This is not an easy effort. This requires sacrifice by the people of the United States. But this is a very dangerous and uncertain world.

As I said earlier on 3 occasions in the last 3 years the United States has had a direct confrontation.

***************

No one can say,

or when it will come again.

No one expects,

****************

uh that uh our life will be easy, certainly not in this decade, and perhaps not in this century. But we should realize what a burden and responsibility the people of the United States have borne for so many years. Here a country which lived in isolation, divided and protected by the Atlantic and Pacific, uninterested in the struggles of the world around it; here in the short space of 18 years  (since 1945) after the second world war we put ourselves by our own will and by necessity into a defense of alliances with countries all around the globe.

On 3 occasions in the last 3 years (1960-1963), he says that we had direct confrontations, but I don’t remember the confrontation with Berlin.

Obviously, another confrontation was about to occur.

I think that was a hint from JFK,

JFK’S ASSASSINATION (CBS-TV COVERAGE)(PART 34)

•Without the United States SouthViet Nam would collapse over night.

•Without the United States the SEATO Alliance would collapse overnight.

•Without the United States the SENTO Alliance would collapse overnight.

•Without the United States there would be no NATO and gradually Europe would drift into neutralism and indifference.

•Without the effort of the United States and the Alliance For Progress the Communist advance onto the mainland of South America would  long ago have taken place.

So this country which desires only to be free, which desires to be secure, which desires to live at peace, for 18 years under 3 different administrations has borne more than its share of the burden,

Has stood watch for more than its number of years.

I don’t think that uh we are fatigued, or tired. We would like to live uh as we once lived, but history will not permit it. The Communist balance of power is still uh strong. The balance of power is still on the side of freedom. We are still the keystone in the arch of freedom and I think we will continue to do as we have done in our past: our duty, and uh the people of Texas will be in the lead.

So I’m glad to come.

I’m glad to come to this uh state which has played uh such a significant role in so many efforts in this century. And to say that here in Ft. Worth you people will be playing a major role in the maintenance of the security of the United States for the next 10 years. I’m confident as I uh look to the future that our chances for security, our chances for peace, are better than they’ve been in the past and the reason is because we’re stronger. And with that strength is a determination to not only maintain the peace, but also the vital interests of the United States.

To that great cause Texas, and the United States, are committed.

Thank you.

end of JFK’s Speech

Apparently,

JACKIE LIKED THAT SPEECH!

                                                                                                               ALOT!

Does JFK look okay in the picture on the left?

or does he look like something is wrong ….

I think he looks upset.

Because

She or whatever it is

is controlling him!

DEVIL’S BREATH FLOWER

============================================================================

Do you see the pretty white flowers?

EERILY SIMILAR PHOTO OF JFK. I find it very odd!

I THINK THIS SHOT WAS TAKEN IN MIAMI A WEEK OR SO BEFORE THE PICTURE ABOVE IT.

HE IS WEARING A BOW TIE AND A REGULAR TIE IN THE PICTURE ABOVE AND BELOW THIS PICTURE IN FT. WORTH.

===============================================================================================

President Kennedy appears to be wiping his eyes from crying

(which is not a normal reaction….something else is going on)

and away from Jackie Kennedy

and then laughs at the presentations given to him.

Mr. President, your visit with us in Ft. Worth today, the things you have said have refreshed and renewed our appreciation of your great leadership and courage.

You have brought rain to moisten our pastures and our fields.

You have brought sunshine in our hearts

We know, we know that you don’t wear a hat.

HERE ARE 2 PICTURES OF JFK WEARING A HAT.
IT’S POSSIBLE, IT’S POSSIBLE THAT DR. GRANVILLE WALKER AND/OR HIS WIFE DIFFER
THAN THE AVERAGE MAN BY THE MEANING OF
‘WEARING A HAT’. )

AFTER ALL THEIR MOTTO IS:

TOO BAD YOU NEED TO USE DRUGS ON UNSUSPECTING HUMANITY  TO ACHIEVE THOSE CHANGES! WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE EFFECTS OF THE DRUGS DISSIPATE? DO YOU THEN KILL TO COVER UP THE DECEPTION?

OBVIOUSLY, THERE IS A BETTER WAY THAN THAT!)

We couldn’t let you leave Ft. Worth without providing you with some protection

against the rain.

JFK REPLIES:

-I’ll put it on in the uh White House

on Monday

 if you’ll come up there,

you’ll have a chance to see it,

then.

Another hint from JFK?

Was there an event scheduled for Monday that the public isn’t aware of?

That was the day of his funeral!

Was he aware of that?

That uh that Texas hat is presented to you by our Washer Brothers,

one of the oldest men stores in Texas.

And to protect you against global enemies in the manner you are protecting this nation against our foreign enemies and to keep the rattlesnakes on Vice President Johnson’s ranch from striking you, we wanted to present these this pair of boots. We won’t ask you to put them on ….here. The boots are presented by Mr. John Justin, former Mayor of Ft. Worth, manufacturer of the most walked about boots in the world.

And Mrs. Kennedy, as you ride to the hounds or walk to the rattlesnakes,

(She did do that, didn’t she!)

we want you to have protection, too.

Boots, I think.

Gives her a box!

Before the Benediction

I’d like to present Mrs. Granville Walker, the wife of Dr. Granville Walker, who will

Announce the Benediction.

Mrs. Granville Walker.

No woman stands up so I guess I should assume he is Mrs. Granville Walker,

however there was a break in the film so could be she did her introduction in the break not shown.

JFK licks

After Dr. Walker

Gives the Benediction

we’ll ask that  you please remain seated

until the President and Mrs. Kennedy have made their exit.

Dr. Granville Walker.

Dr. Walker takes the podium.

– Let us be in the spirit of prayer. The Lord bless all nations with a desire for peace. The Lord bless our own beloved nation with rectitude and prosperity and grant us to achieve justice for all within it. The Lord bless our President and all in places of responsibility with wisdom and with health equal to their tasks. And now the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord cause his face to shine upon you and give you peace both now and forever.

Aye—-men.

Uh, gee did this mantra help anyone

that day?

Though it sounds real pretty.

……….A little while later JFK goes to Dallas

and he is assassinated by Jackie Kennedy………..

with the help of some religious leaders, the press, the witnesses, and many more.

 AT LEAST, SOW IT SEEMS

It does seem like this is occurring as if back then and also now.

Back to Walter Cronkite

Lee H. Oswald the 24 year old man whom Dallas Police say is a prime suspect in the assassination of President Kennedy was questioned for 6 hours at the Dallas Police Station this evening. He was arrested shortly after the assassination and has been under questioning ever since. But as he was lead from the interrogation room upstairs in the Dallas Police Station perhaps reporters say for booking, he said to reporters, “I don’t know anything about this. I haven’t done anything.”  Apparently he is still denying any  knowledge of the assassination.

Oswald’s arrest uh resulted from a theater cashier’s tip, Mrs. Julie Postal, telephoning Police from the Texas theater that a man inside looked like he was running from someone, and that was just 45 minutes after the shooting. The theater 3 miles away from shooting scene. She said he kept changing seats in the theater. The police by this time were frantically searching the city for the killer, of course, and two officers raced to the theater and in through a rear door. One of them opened fire. Oswald had a snub nosed 38 pistol on him and he shot, too. It’s not clear who fired first, but Officer J. D. Tippit was shot dead and police say that Oswald’s pistol killed him.

Oswald as we said was local Chairman of the pro Castro Fair Play For Cuba Committee. He went to Russia in 1959 saying he was relinquishing his United States Citizenship. He returned last year complaining that he was disillusioned. Whether or not he ever actually did get Soviet citizenship is not clear. But he did marry while in Russia and is said to have one or two children. His wife is in this country with him and was taken to the Police Station this afternoon, also.

Oswald worked in the building where the murder weapon- a German made Mouser Rifle was discovered. Oswald has been active in propaganda activities as

Bob Jones from Station WWL TV in New Orleans reports.

cuts to film showing Oswald passing out leaflets

Obviously, Oswald was on their radar screen early on.

-This is Lee H. Oswald in October 16th in New Orleans when he was handling out hand bills for the Fair Play For Cuba Committee in front of the International Trade Mart. New Orleans Police know Oswald well. On August 9th he was arrested for disturbing the peace by creating a scene on the cities Main Canal Street by also distributing these hand bills. He resided in an apartment here from May 9th until August 20th when he slipped out in the middle of the night without having paid his rent. The apartment manager said he was quiet and talked to no one. They found several of these pamphlets lying around the apartment after he had left. This is Bob Jones WWL-TV in New Orleans.

END.

That was short!

JFK’S ASSASSINATION (CBS-TV COVERAGE)(PART 35)

By strange coincidence since 1840 beginning with Benjamin Harrison over our last 8 Presidents who assumed office on the even years two decades apart have died in office. And of the nations 35 Presidents, 4 have died of assassins bullets. President Lincoln in 1865, and Garfield in 1881, McKinnley in 1901, and John F. Kennedy today. In this century 4 Vice Presidents have moved up to the highest office in emergencies: Theodore Roosevelt succeeded President McKinnley. Calvin Coolidge in August 1923 succeeded Warren Harding who died of a stroke. In April 1945 Harry Truman took the Oath of Office following Franklin Roosevelt’s death at Warm Springs, Georgia. And today Lyndon Johnson took the oath aboard an Air Force jet liner at Dallas, Texas. For a report on the man who is our new President, here is Eric Severeid.

Eric Severeid reads his propaganda and it seems to be the exact monologue he read before .

-Walter on this day of misfortune (clears throat) perhaps some measure of comfort can be taken from one circumstance: This time the successor to an assassinated President is a man of first rank ability. This was not so when Abraham Lincoln died, although some historians disagree about Andrew Johnson. It was not so when Garfield died and was succeeded by Chester Arthur. It was so when McKinnley died and Theodore Roosevelt became the President, and it’s so again. Lyndon Baines Johnson is no throttle-bottom, no political accident. He is 55 years old. He’s in the prime of life for the responsibilities of the Presidency at a point where a man’s experience and his energies meet at a high mutual level. Johnson was born in Texas near the hamlet called Johnson City where the family flag flies over the LBJ ranch. He’s a lawyer by education, a politician by instinct and by great success. sticks out tongue 1:59/10:50.

It was not so….. It was not so…. It was so…… and it’s so again.  SOWHAT?

I’m sorry but this is soweird.

He was a very young age of Franklin Roosevelt during the New Deal Days. He worked on the Youth Project. He first went to the House of Representatives in 1937. He was only 29 years old. And there in the House he became the personal protege of Sam Reaper a great Texan who ran the House as Speaker longer than any man in our history including Henry Clay. licks 2:21/10:50 Johnson went to the Senate in 1949 winning in Texas by a tiny majority of just 87 votes. And he became, without much doubt, the most effective Majority Leader in the whole story of the Senate. Sticks out tongue. 2:34/10:50. His energy there was prodigious. he lived in a whirl of activity. He put most Senators in his personal debt by one kind of service or another. His fame became great in Washington itself during the years of Republican rule under President Eisenhower. His power then as Senate Leader was greater by far than it has been since in the Vice Presidency. sticks out tongue 2:55/10:50. Johnson was called a liberal by instinct, and intellect, a conservative by geography. His political alliances in Texas were with the more conservative Texans who have managed that state for a good many years. But in most national matters he was regarded as progressive including on the matter of civil rights. Again, this was in the pattern and the image of his patron Sam Rayburn. He is a fairly wealthy man his family holdings, some in the name of his wife Lady Bird include television stations, as well as the ranch. sticks out tongue 3:26/10:50. In 1955, when Johnson was making a visit to the uh Virginia Farm of Mr. George McGhee another Texan our ambassador to Germany, Mr. Johnson felt ill. He thought it was acute indigestion. Senator Clinton Anderson of New Mexico was present and he said at once, “You’re having a heart attack.”  Mr. Johnson was taken to a hospital where he slowly recovered. sticks out tongue 3:48/10:50.

============================

In part one of this series Frank McGeehee is mentioned by Eddie Barker reporting at the Trade Mart who said  that Frank McGeehee was the leader of the National Indignation Convention a group of extreme rightists here tried to interrupt the uh ambassador. I sort of think he is connected somehow to Ambassador McGhee. Here us that same snippet from that section:

Is Frank McGeeHee related to Ambassador McGhee?

Former German Chancellor Considered Buying East Germany

“For Erhard, the issue was more than a theoretical scenario, as several dossiers and transcripts from US diplomats show. In confidential discussions with the US ambassador in Bonn, George McGhee, the German chancellor spoke of

a “necessary sacrifice” or a new gesture.”….

“……The Christian Democrat wanted to entice the communists on the other side of the Iron Curtain with enormous sums of money. His closest confidante, Chancellery Chief of Staff Ludger Westrick, even went so far as to name them at a dinner with Ambassador McGhee on Oct. 21, 1963: Loans of perhaps $2.5 billion a year for 10 or more years, or approximately 100 billion deutsche marks at the currency exchange rate at the time…”

George Crews McGhee, 93, Oil Prospector and Diplomat, Dies

“…..With the arrival of President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s administration, Ambassador McGhee returned to the oil business but was recalled as a consultant to the National Security Council and as a member of the president’s commission on the military assistance program.

President John F. Kennedy appointed him counselor to the State Department and head of its policy planning council. During the Cuban missile crisis he was under secretary for political affairs, the No. 3 job in the department……”

Was the sacrifice President Kennedy?

=================

Back to Eric Severeid hyping the Talents of Lyndon Johnson:

For some time after that his strength was diminished. He told his reporters once on Monday mornings I’m full of fire by Wednesday night I’m all tired out. But all this changed. His full strength came back and in recent years he has demonstrated his old energies in a daily whirl of activities including a great many trips around this country and abroad. sticks out tongue 4:09/10:50. He is now personally acquainted with virtually all of the world leaders of President Kennedy was acquainted with, including Mr. Kruschev. His grasp of domestic politics is very great at the general and intellectual level and at the practical working level of this total human machinery that makes our rather cumbers (def:to hinder, to slow, to weigh down) system work.

His fierce fight against Mr. Kennedy for the Democratic Nomination in 1960 seems only yesterday. But his great prestige in Washington, at that time, was not matched by his prestige in the country at largeSo it was a tremendous struggle right down to the final hours of the convention. Mr. Kennedy chose Johnson to be his running mate partly because he had to have strength in the Southern states. Johnson was the one man who could conciliate the Southern Conservatives. And this he did. In fact, there were many later on who said that Mr. Kennedy owed his election to Mr. Johnson. In any case, Johnson became the President’s Lieutenant in full fidelity (adjusts his glasses) not only in his public actions, but in his private talk. sticks out tongue 5:15/10:50. But he began to fade from the national consciousness as Vice President, as most Vice Presidents under an energetic President are bound to do.

When the president, President Kennedy died today, both he and the Vice President were engaged behind the scenes in trying to settle the feud within the Texas Democratic Party between the Johnson Connally forces and the liberal forces led by Senator Ralph Yarborough. And now all that which does seem so petty in retrospect, all that doesn’t matter very much. Mr. Johnson is the President. Texas is his personal political base in its totality. Well, when the sorrow of today begins to fade and when the President has been laid to rest the machinery of the national government will take up again. And again Americans will think ahead not only as to what lines of policy and action the new President will follow, but also after a while to the election of next year. Mr. Johnson will be nominated at the Democratic Convention next August, if he wishes it and I think most observers tonight would predict that he will wish it. All estimations as to the outcome of the election itself a year from this November, of course, are right now without meaning. That election like the course of this great country itself lies with faith and with the continuing nature of the times (takes off his glasses) and of the world itself. Now, Walter.

Very Smoooooth!

Back to Walter Cronkite.

Dallas, Texas a name and a place that bore the romance of the great oil state and its almost legendary wealth in an instant, in the flash  of an assassin’s bullet, has been saddled with an unwanted memory. The mayor of Dallas is Earl Cabell. He is with Eddie Barker in our KRLD-TV Studios in Dallas right now.

——————–

Eddie Barker folds his arms leans over his table and speaks.

Walter, I think that uh most Dallasites feel at this hour, as I do, still in a state of shock. But as the grim reality takes hold that in our town the President of our United States could be gunned down by a fiend, I shutter and feel sick in the pit of my stomach. And Dallas feels that way, too. For as  you know, Dallas is not that kind of town. To Easterners who come here they often say wha this is sort of a little New York. It’s known as the town in the Southwest with the culture. It’s had a lot of problems with its extreme elements, but uh this is something today that certainly has this town shocked. Mayor Earl Cabell who was in that Presidential Parade today and was only a cars length away when the President was shot. Mayor?

-Eddie, what you say about Dallas is true. Dallas has been proud and it has been known as a friendly, as a gracious city. And that is what has added so much to the shock of what happened today. Along 12 or 14 miles of the route of the caravan, the parade, it was so obvious the friendliness, the warmth that was just coming from all of those people. Never in all of my life and I’ve lived in Dallas all of my life. I’ve ridden in dozens of parades, but never have I seen such multitudes, such thousands on the street. And never have I seen such enthusiasm, such warmth that expressed themselves and that was so spontaneous as the cars passed. And then almost at the end of that route for those shots to ring out and with the realization as to what was going on even before we realized what had actually happened. Uh Eddie  the shock of it uh is just unbelievable and and it hadn’t been two minutes prior to that that we had been talking to Congressman Roberts of Mckinney of this tremendous ovation that had greeted the President uh and then, of course, the rest is history.
Eddie speaks
Mayor, we’ve uh had some bad light shed on this city of ours in the past few weeks what with the incident here and not too long ago when Adlai Stevenson was hit with a sign and spat upon and now the uh President of the country is assassinated here. Uh. What uh, what is Dallas going to do?
-Well I, I cannot ascribe that to being the feeling of the true Dallas citizen or the preponderance of Dallas citizens. That, those people represent only a handful of the radical right and uh I don’t ascribe criminal tendencies to them. Possibly, uh they might have incited a a lower grade of brain to have committed an act like this, but I I can’t point my finger. This is no time to point fingers. This, this is a time of of prayer and sober reflection. Uh, we all have to search our souls with reference to what we might have said or done uh to have brought about a calamity of this sort.
Eddie speaks
Mayor, I would uh think that the feeling is that in the broad moral sense, at least, that all of us share in what has happened here today, but this city uh you say is not a city where things like this are done. The minority, it’s a loud one, and today uh this tragic thing that happens really once in a life time.
-This is a guilt that doesn’t belong to a few, this a guilt of of the nation. We’re all responsible for this.
Now, it is our nation that is guilty in the assassination of President Kennedy!
How about the trigger person or the thing in the car sitting next to President Kennedy with an extra long right arm and smoke and heat rising from the weapon she/he/it was holding?
Why do they seem to look everywhere else to lay the guilt?
WHY ARE THEY PROTECTING THE REAL ASSASSIN?
Eddie Barker obviously knew Jackie Kennedy was responsible implicit in his comments with Dan Rather,
so why is he playing this guilt game?
END
